Export Regulations

At Korich Foods, we ensure full compliance with all Nigerian export regulations for vegetable and soya oils to guarantee safe, high-quality products for international markets. Below are key aspects of the export process and requirements:

• Registration as an exporter with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC). This is the first step for any formal export activities. Learn more from NEPC.
• Compliance with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Fats, Oils and Foods Containing Fats and Oils Regulations 2022. Key requirements include product registration, Vitamin A fortification (at least 20,000 I.U./kg for specified oils), sourcing from approved origins, adherence to GMP/GHP and quality standards, trans fat limits (≤2g/100g), proper labeling with nutritional info and allergens, and ensuring freedom from contaminants like heavy metals and pesticides per Codex standards. • Obtaining quality assurance documents, such as phytosanitary certificates from the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) for agricultural commodities, ensuring products meet international safety standards like Codex limits on contaminants.
• Preparation of export documentation including commercial invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and inspection certificates to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
• Adherence to international trade agreements and destination country requirements, including limits on pesticides, heavy metals, and aflatoxins for food-grade oils.
